The biggest attraction in Kodanad is the elephant training centre. It is the largest elephant training centre in Kerala ( I think in India too). Visit at the right time to see the elephants up close. Many people complain that the elephants are tied with chains to the trees. But if they are not many tourists might not return home. There is a garden here with some plants having mythological importance. Earlier elephants captured from the Malayattor forests were brought here for training but since the government banned elephant capturing it turned into a training centre for elephants. Not a bad place to visit.
